Fastest Cloud Backup

Uncompromising Cloud Speed and Bandwidth Optimization

Cloud-based storage is great while your data is in the cloud, but uploading and recovering your data can be a challenge.  Bandwidth–how much bandwidth you have at your location, as well as how your cloud vendor implements bandwidth throttling–can make these processes easy or tedious.  Many cloud providers put limits on how much data you can transfer at any given time, requiring you to send physical data drives to them for initial data seeding, and shipping you drives for data recovery.  These limits break the cloud’s promise of constant, fast access to your data.  Symform is up to 10 times faster than other cloud storage solutions because we have no central pipe, no bandwidth throttling, and no data volume limits.  Symform also has unique features developed to solve the problem of speed, such as Turbo Seeding and Instant Restore.

Why Symform Is 10 Times Faster Than Most Clouds:

  • Data Fragmenting:  Before moving your data to the cloud, Symform breaks it up into blocks and shred each block into 64 fragments, adding 32 parity fragments to each 64 for redundancy.
  • Parallel Internet Connections: Symform distributes those 96 pieces to 96 different devices on the network, over parallel internet connections, simplifying and speeding up initial seeding.  Symform’s Turbo Seeding gives you another option to simplify the initial data seed.  We avoid sending all the data to one server inside one datacenter, which would likely be sharing bandwidth with hundreds or thousands of other servers.
  • Faster Data Recovery:  Similarly, during recovery, Symform brings data fragments back from the cloud over parallel internet connections, enabling restores 10 to 50 times faster than a traditional solution could offer. Only 64 of a block’s 96 data fragments are needed to reconstruct the block, making the restore process even faster. Symform’s Instant Restore feature also lets you create a hot copy of your data at a secondary location for immediate recovery.
  • Configurable Bandwidth Optimization:  Symform lets you choose how much bandwidth you want it to use for both syncing and contribution, and lets you set the time of day when you want Symform to do the heavy lifting.

Speed Combined With Reliability and Durability:

Fast performance is great. However, all the speed in the world can’t fix an equipment failure. We all know that servers and hard disks fail. We also know that humans make catastrophic mistakes. After all, that is why we want to use cloud storage to protect our valuable data. The chance of servers and hard disks failing in a traditional datacenter environment is high, even with virtualization, redundancy, and failover.  Symform’s distributed cloud network, on the other hand, requires 33 unrelated, unknown, and geographically dispersed disks to fail at nearly the same time before any customer data is lost. Such a scenario is statistically impossible. Our security procedures ensure that even a widespread regional disaster is highly unlikely to result in data loss in the Symform cloud.  Protected by our RAID96 technology, Symform’s global network guarantees that your data will be there when you need it.

Symform offers your data lifelong durability and the ability to survive any kind of disaster – from a fat-finger file delete to a coffee spill on the server to a devastating fire, theft, or natural disaster.
