We want to make it as easy as possible for you to successfully upload your data with and contribute local drive space back to the Symform Cloud Storage Network. Below are the minimum requirements for participation.
Basic System Requirements:
- Windows XP SP2, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows Server 2008 R2
- Must be running Microsoft .NET Framework v3.5
- Mac OS X 10.6 (aka “Snow Leopard”) or higher on Intel platform.
- Linux
- Symform is available for the latest distributions of Ubuntu, Fedora and CentOS.
- You must be running the Gnome windowing environment on either 32- or 64-bit x86 architectures.
- Firmware version 3.5.1 and higher.
- CPU speeds of 1.6 GHz and higher.
- Minimum 256 MB of RAM.

- Firmware version DSM 4.0 and higher.
- CPU speeds of 1.6 GHz and higher (Intel Atom and Marvell processors only).
- Minimum 256 MB of RAM.

- Firmware version 5.3.6 and higher (ARM-based devices) or 4.2.21 and higher (Intel-based devices).
- CPU speeds of 1.6 GHz and higher (standard CPU) or 1.0 GHz and higher (SOC).
- Minimum 256 MB of RAM.

Contribution Requirements:
- Always-on, business class Internet connection with no transfer limits and sufficient bandwidth:
- Minimum bandwidth of 512Kbps Up and 1Mbps Down. Test yours at www.speedtest.net.
- Use our bandwidth calculator to determine the bandwidth necessary to back up and contribute.
- Local drive space contributed proportional to what you will be using in the cloud.
- For users who wish to contribute more than 3 TB from a single device, the following additional minimum specifications are required:
- Quad-core processor
- 4 GB RAM
- 7200 RPM drives
- RAID 5 or 6 array
