Position Summary
As a Senior Director of Technical Operations you will be responsible for Symform's critical production environment, software as a service applications and infrastructure. Your mission will be to ensure that the Symform Storage Cloud is always fast, available, scalable, reliable, and engineered to the highest standards.
You will design, develop, and manage the systems and production services that run the Symform Storage Cloud. You will also be responsible for driving performance and reliability that meets or exceeds our SLA and, more importantly, the demands of a world class SaaS application. In addition you will manage the rapid growth of our software and infrastructure, providing our customers with an exceptional experience and outstanding uptime. You will be looked upon as an expert and leader in the engineering organization thus making critical design decisions, and establishing best practices in our technical operations.
The successful candidate for this role will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, solid communication skills, a desire to solve complex problems of scale which are unique to Symform, and fluency in coding, algorithms, capacity planning and systems design. It will be particularly important to nurture close, collaborative relationships with Product Development and Customer Support. We are seeking a proven professional who has managed and scaled the technical operations of a large SaaS application environment. Essential Functions
- Responsible for Engineering and Technical Operations at Symform.
- Create and apply world-class standard operating and escalation procedures.
- Manage the availability, latency, scalability and efficiency of Symform services by engineering reliability into software and systems.
- Define and apply best operational practices for deployment, instrumentation, and logging.
- Respond to and resolve emergent service problems. Build tools and automation to prevent problem recurrence.
- Review and influence new and evolving design, architecture, standards, and methods for operating services and systems.
- Participate in software and system performance analysis and tuning, service capacity planning and demand forecasting.
- Perform periodic on-call duty as part of a global team.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
