Getting Your Files to the Cloud for the First Time

Moving your data to the cloud for the first time can be frustrating. Traditional online backup services use one pipe for thousands of customers, so you only get a fraction of their available bandwidth. All the data is moving through that pipe to a centralized data center, resulting in a single point of failure and security risks. Also, many traditional providers throttle bandwidth intentionally in order to avoid paying expensive peak bandwidth rates in data centers.

Conversely, Symform's revolutionary technology:
  • Creates hundreds of parallel upload connections, so throughput is extremely fast.
  • Never throttles your bandwidth, unless you want to.
  • Provides flexibility in how you upload your initial data.
  • Performs incremental sync to optimize upload and data integrity.
Simply point Symform at the files you want to back up, tell Symform how much bandwidth it can use and at what times of the day you want to sync your data, and let Symform zip your data to the cloud.

Backing Up Large Amounts of Data with Symform Turbo Seeding

If you have large initial backup files and limited bandwidth capacity, the initial data seed can become a challenge. Many cloud storage providers ask you to mail them a physical copy of your data, which they move to their datacenter servers. This process can be slow, cumbersome and error-prone.

Symform Turbo Seeding allows you to get your data into the cloud quickly and more securely. Turbo Seeding is especially great for IT solution providers to use with their customers, but can be leveraged by anyone. With Symform Turbo Seeding, the files are safely offsite at another location right away, and then over time are spread across the Symform global network. Here's how it works:
  • The Turbo Seeding encrypts and fragments your data.
  • Using the tool, you export that data to an external drive.
  • You take that drive (with the encrypted, shredded data) to a secondary physical location (such as a branch office, IT service provider, or colocation facility).
  • You run the Turbo Seeding wizard on a server/device that is on the Symform network at the secondary location, and import the data to that device.
  • Symform's geographic distribution process automatically begins distributing the fragments across the global network.
