Cloud computing pioneer makes key addition to leadership team
SEATTLE, WA – June 24, 2009 – Symform, Inc., a pioneer in decentralized cloud computing systems, today announced that Kevin Brown has been appointed Vice President, Sales and Marketing for the company. Brown brings more than 25 years of experience in building and leading extraordinary companies.
In his new position, Brown will be responsible for worldwide sales and marketing activities. “We are extremely excited to have Kevin join Symform’s founding executive team. He fills a critical gap in Symform’s leadership and we couldn’t have asked for a better individual to place in this role,” said Praerit Garg, Symform President and co-founder. “Having helped build many successful companies from the ground up for over two decades, he brings the much needed breadth and depth in sales and marketing and adds greatly to Symform’s entrepreneurial DNA.”
Kevin comes to Symform from Tableau Software where he was a member of the founding executive team. During his tenure at Tableau, he served as VP, Sales and Marketing, and VP, Alliances and Partnerships. Tableau has established itself as the worldwide leader in visual analytics software.
Prior to Tableau, Kevin was VP and Managing Director, International and a member of the founding executive team at Visio Corporation (NASDAQ: VSIO) now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Microsoft. Starting as the first international employee at Visio, Kevin helped grow the company’s international revenues from $0 to $80M and established its presence in over 30 markets. Prior to Visio, he spent a decade as the CEO/Founder of Brown & Associates, a Networking and IT Services Provider based in Boston, MA.
